Dr. Joshua Rosales is a local Bay Area native who grew up in Hercules. He prides himself in providing conservative and modern dentistry that has helped many people achieve greater oral health and beautiful smiles. He received his bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Science then went on to receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California. He spent his spare time in Southern California performing free dental care to the homeless population and to the children in underserved areas of Los Angeles. He has also spent time volunteering in Ensenada, Mexico and Chiang Rai, Thailand educating the underprivileged in oral health.
Dr. Rosales is an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Contra Costa Dental Society. He enjoys attending year-round training on some of the most advanced dental techniques that modern dentistry has to offer. He strongly believes that oral health is connected to overall health and encourages his patients to be proactive in protecting themselves from the link between oral health and heart disease.
During his spare time, Dr. Rosales enjoys powerlifting, trying different cuisines, walking his wiener dog, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Lisa Pham
Dr. Lisa Pham has lived in many cities but calls the Bay Area her home. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco. She is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Contra Costa Dental Society. Dr. Pham has been practicing family dentistry and she loves working with kids.
Following her belief in giving back to the community, Dr. Pham has participated in a dental mission trip to Jamaica with the 1000 Smiles project and volunteers at CDA Cares events to provide free dental treatment. She takes great pride in patient care and continuing education. She believes everyone deserves a healthy smile and is committed to providing the best treatment for them. She enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, reading, traveling, cooking, getting outdoors, and is an avid fan of musicals.
Dr. Daniel Tanita - Retired
Dr. Daniel Tanita previously owned the practice for over 40 years until he retired in 2018. Dr. Tanita has played a vital role in the community and has been a big inspiration to the dental profession. He passed on his practice to Dr. Rosales and Dr. Pham and although he is no longer in the office, San Pablo Smiles still strives to carry on his practice philosophy.
Dr. Daniel Tanita received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco. He also received training in Cosmetic Dentistry at the University of California, San Francisco, with Dr. Harry Albers.
He is a member of several professional organizations and societies. He is an active volunteer in his West Contra Costa County community, where he supports an annual Free Dental Clinic for low-income children and serves as a volunteer director at the Brookside Community Dental Clinic.
An active member of the Richmond Rotary Club, in March 2007 Dr. Tanita hosted a group of international dental professionals through the Rotary's Productivity Enhancement Program, a program that teaches individual business owners about entrepreneurship at a grassroots level.
A native of Arizona, Dr. Tanita enjoys living with his family in the San Francisco Bay Area where he has spent the past 30 years.
